It Was Never Meant to be Easy!

I’ve just got back from HEART (Home Educators Annual Retreat) where we were shown a great movie clip made by a homeschooling family (Team Gordon) who have relocated to Uganda. I was challenged and inspired by their example. I have always had a heart for missions, and used to dream of taking the whole family somewhere. However…

A month ago, we had a friend over for a meal, and enjoyed… read more

Co-op Dinner

On Saturday we had the inaugural dinner and divvying out of the first food order of the family co-op we have set up. It was a lot of fun. We spent an hour weighing out the food and distributing it to the different people who had ordered, and then shared a delicious pot luck dinner together.  There were sacks of flour, chick peas… read more | 1 Comment

Ian Grant writes a short punchy article about the need for us as parents and wives and husbands to get this area of our lives in balance. He even… read more | 1 Comment

Starry, Starry Night

The other night after dinner we climbed out of Ellie’s window and set pillows and blankets out on the verandah roof and settled down to look at the heavens.  It was a cold, clear night – beautiful! Ellie says she saw thirty shooting stars. I told the children about the radio interview I heard recently in which they said that only 20%… read more | 8 Comments

Double Surprise!

On Wednesday night Chris and I had an evening at home on our own while Ellie took the younger three to soccer practice and then youth group. When they got home we had fun sitting around the fire talking about the exciting day coming up on the morrow – Kate and Joe would be coming home for the long weekend! I went… read more | 7 Comments
