My darling mum who is 91 has been unwell lately. Dad has been her full time devoted carer for so long, but can’t cope single handed anymore. So Penny (my twin) and I have been taking turns staying the night with them. I was up there last night. What a beautiful time I had with them! Mum is so patient and loving, even though she’s in pain with ulcers… read more | 3 Comments

Angel has been nesting under beds for the last week – in fact she tore up a lot of my old letters that Milly had under bed…the very ones Kate wrote about in her blog. I drove down to Auckland last week to begin a ten day tour – speaking at the national home schooling convention. It was fun being on my own for once in the car. Turned on some great music and sang at the top of my voice. And then I stopped the car to watch the most beautiful sunset unfold. The rays stretched into the heavens just like we all… read more

It’s been a busy time in the garden and orchard lately. I’ve had so many tomatoes, some of which are waiting for me to deal with them in the freezer. But I have made lots of pasta sauce, and some of Annabel Langbein’s country harvest tomato sauce – delicious!
I also had a great harvest of damson plums… read more

We’ve had a busy time here of late. Last Sunday we hosted the church picnic. Had about 130 people come out – they all sat
on the lawn and had lunch; There were egg and spoon races, sack races, cricket games, volleyball and swimming. Fun! A dream come true for me – I used to say to Chris while we were building the house that one… read more | 1 Comment
