Godspots
Radio Rhema Godspots – sixty seconds of airtime that share a nugget of truth, inspiration and encouragement.
The theory behind these 60 second thoughts is summed up in ‘The Message’ version of Matthew 13, when Jesus was asked why he told parables. He replied “I tell stories to create readiness…to nudge people towards receptive insight”.
We are using radio to paint word pictures to ‘nudge towards receptive insight’, and you can say a whole lot in 60 seconds…Psalm 23 is less than 120 words!
On this page I’ll paste the transcript of the Godspots I’ve recorded for radio for those of you who would like a copy. I hope they’ll be a blessing.

Psalm 143 – A Daily Prayer
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. My grandfather had this quote written in the back of his Bible: There is no better use of the word of God than to turn it into prayers.
Psalm 143 makes a great daily prayer. It wells up from the psalmist’s heart in a time of distress and desperation..
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in… read more
He Gathers the Lambs in His Arms
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. In Isaiah 40, we read of the Sovereign Lord who comes with power, and rules with a mighty arm. The verse then goes on to say, “He tends his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
What beautiful words! With barely a breath in between… read more
His Word Revives Us
Hi I’m Rosie Boom. Psalm 119 v 92 says If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have revived me.
I love this verse! In my darkest trial, this verse became my testimony. When the very foundation of my faith was being shaken and tested, it was the Word of God… read more
Jairus
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. The story of Jairus and his dying daughter has often touched me. At Jairus’s request, Jesus starts off with him to heal his daughter but on the way he stops to heal the woman with the issue of blood. I’ve often wondered how Jairus must have felt, knowing every minute counted. And then his worst fears come true. A servant arrives with the message… read more
Wait for the Lord
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. Psalm 27 says, Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Waiting is never easy. I waited a long time before God brought my husband Chris into my life. Some of those years were difficult and challenging. Years ago, in the middle of my single years and my waiting, my grandfather gave me some wonderful advice. I… read more
Jeremiah – Do not say…
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. In Jeremiah chapter 1, the Lord says to Jeremiah, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
We all have excuses that we throw up when the Lord asks us… read more
The Edelweiss of God
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. In one of her books, Amy Carmichael, missionary to India, writes of the little joys that spring up beside our path like flowers, often unnoticed except by those who are looking for them. She encourages us to search for them—she calls it “gathering the edelweiss of God.” Even on the barren, rocky heights the little edelweiss flower springs up. In the same way God’s consolations… read more
Martha, Martha
Hi, I’m Rosie Boom. In Luke 10 we read of Jesus visiting his friends, Martha, Mary and Lazarus.
A wonderful event was happening in her home but Martha was distracted by all her preparations. She was flustered and bothered. And she was annoyed at her sister. Mary seemed oblivious to all the work that needed to be done and was just sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening… read more
