Well, I’ve happily been informed that Where the Crickets Sing has been named one of the three finalists for the 2012 CALEB prize for best children’s book. Yay!! Very exciting. Thanks to all those who have given me their best wishes and vote of confidence. 🙂

The awards dinner is on the 13th October in Brisbane. I’m flying over there for the weekend and am attending the Word Writer’s Fair – a wonderful weekend of workshops and lectures and networking and inspirtaion and…. check it out, all you budding writers. It’s a great place to go and learn some more of our trade and get some fresh input and ideas.

I’m also doing a workshop, and am on a couple of panels so it’ll be a fun, full-on time.
