Off to Texas!

In just a few days (Tuesday 7 May) Penny and I head off to Arlington, Texas! I am one of the featured speakers at the Arlington Book Fair. It is a weekend conference for home schoolers, and draws about 6,000 people each year. It’s so exciting to have my twin sister coming with me!! She will be manning our book booth while I do my speaking slots – three workshops each day. Then after the fair, we are doing a few concerts together in Texas, and one in Ventura, California. Here is a copy of the email that the organizer has just sent out advertising the concerts. Pen and I would appreciate your prayers for safe travels, and that our speaking and singing will be a blessing. Thanks so much!
(Do you like the photo??? I tell you, it took us quite some time before we got one that we could use…Milly was a very patient photographer. 🙂 See some more of her photos at the bottom of this post if you like…)

Identical twins Rose and Penelope from New Zealand like to think they would have sung their first duet in their mother’s womb. They were given their first guitars at age ten and have been singing together since. They are both songwriters and between them have written scores of songs and recorded a number of CDs. They play acoustic guitar in various styles ranging from folk to ballad to blues. Their concerts are warm and intimate, and their music has been described as heart-moving and heart-healing. They love to sing about faith and family, and bring both encouragement and a challenge. An evening with the twins is an enjoyable, yet heart–moving and motivating experience, appealing to all
ages.

  6. Dear Ladies,
Thank you for making the detour to Ventura, California! Your visit was an immense blessing for my two girls and I. I truly believe that they will remember this evening for decades to come. What a rich treasure for my little girls to hear of your adventures on the other side of the world. Words cannot express how much we enjoyed this evening. My 10 year old got into the car tonight and said “that was so awesome…I want to be an author and write my own books!’ Your voices were lovely and your stories and wit were such a treat. We look forward to starting book 1 tomorrow! Thank you for encouraging our young ladies. May God richly bless your journey!
