Harvest Day

Last week a few of us got together in my new home to enjoy a harvest day together. We sat and talked and laughed while we bottled apples and pears and plums. It was so much fun doing it together. The week before I stripped all the plums from our damson plum tree and made damson jam and damson pies and bottled some as well. It’s very gratifying to be harvesting from our young orchard. The peaches have been delicious! Good old Chris for getting it in as soon as we bought the place. I still have piles of apples to preserve and am hoping to be able to do at least some of them on my Homewood stove. Chris has just ordered the neceassary flue parts, and once they arrive we can install the heart of our new home!! The Homewood!!! Check it out on their website www.homewoodstoves.co.nz
