Milford Track

Yesterday morning my husband Chris set off for the South Island with our two youngest sons Samuel and Jacob. They had been planning the special Dad/sons trip for months, and our oldest son, Josiah, was meant to have been going with them. But two nights before they were to leave, Josiah sprained his ankle in a hockey game.  So Milly went in his place! You should have seen her face when we asked her if she’d like to go. Would she!!!! It’s just as well she’s fit. She’d been on a number of their training walks, and keeps herself fit anyway. As she hoisted the heavy pack on her back yesterday, it made me think how important it is to be ready for anything – life can turn so quickly, and we never know when some new thing may burst into our lives.
