Stone Wall in Ruins

The children and I have been learning a new memory verse from Proverbs 24. “I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgement; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered in weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.

I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:  “A little sleep, a little slumber. a little folding of the hands to rest – and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.”

But the other lesson we can learn  from those verses is that everyday we ‘walk past’ things – we need to have eyes to see them, but then we also need to apply our hearts to what we’ve seen, because it’s only if we apply our hearts to what we’ve observed that we learn the lessons in life.

What will we walk past today? What lessons can we learn?
