Okay, for those of you who are wondering what my new project is…
Last night I lay in bed thinking of what I should use a special blank book for. My brother Peter made it – he designed a way to burn the edges of the book – it looks so cool! I covered it with leather and have been thinking about what I’d put inside it. And last night, it came to me! I’ve called it The Book of Years. And starting from 1987 – the year that Chris and I were married – I have designated two pages for each year. In the front I wrote “A short account of the happenings in the lives of Chris and Rosie Boom and family year by year.
Under each year I’m listing all the significant events – happy, sad, momentous – anything of special interest to our family. I want it to be a place where we can refer to and remember what year it was when Mum broke her leg; Kate went to Cambodia; we moved into the barn; Blossom died etc etc.
I’m loving doing it. It means I get to re-read all my diaries – always a positive experience that fills my heart with gratitude for all God’s blessings. 🙂
